At a meeting of Leicestershire County Council's Cabinet, on Tuesday 26th March, Peter stressed the need for infrastructure ahead of development.
The County Council is refreshing its approach to securing developer contributions for new developments based on up-to-date evidence and costings.
Speaking at Cabinet Peter said
I have spoken with over 2,000 residents this year and by far they want to see the right infrastructure in place up front before housing estates are given the go ahead.
Villages from Ratby to Rothley, Markfield to Mountsorrel have seen an enormous amount of development over recent years and there has to be the infrastructure to support this growth.
Peter continues to press Hinckley and Bosworth, and Charnwood Borough Councils to finalise robust up to date Local Plans; so that our villages are better protected from unsustainable developments often lacking the necessary infrastructure.
