On Thursday 21st September Peter joined County Councillor James Poland at a Tarmac Open Event on the Mountsorrel Quarry expansion plans.
The event, in Rothley, was well attended with representatives of Tarmac answering questions on a range of issues such as concerns about dust, noise and pollution.
Speaking after the event Peter said:
"I am grateful to Tarmac for putting on open events like this. Some residents have real concerns about dust, the environmental impact and noise from an expanded quarry. It was helpful to discuss these with the operators and see the mitigations they are proposing."
Tarmac intend to submit a formal application to Leicestershire County Council in October.
